Our Body: Vibration of the Divine

This experience will be a combination of experiences and will be weighted with philosophy of the body’s vibration.

Join Hansa in experiencing the Vibration of the Divine in your body. We will begin externally and work to a deeper internal experience: chanting, chanting during an asana flow and exploring the alphabet of the body. Yes, within the body is the expansion of the Divine, internally placed on the petals of the cakra and externally as marma points. Explore the alphabet and how asana is the movement of vibration, harmonize our body leading to health and wellbeing in the body, mind and Spirit.

Devotional Yoga - Connecting Yoga with Faith

Yoga is an integrative practice that helps us to achieve balance, promotes physical/spiritual health, and attain mental calmness. With numerous spiritual and physical benefits, what issues could there be with making this practice part of my daily routines? But still, I experience a recurring question from well-meaning individuals: Should Christians practice yoga?

In this workshop, we will explore popular religious beliefs around the world and their view on practicing yoga. We will also discuss the 8 limbs of yoga, spiritual disciplines that align with yoga and various religions, and flow through a Devotional Yoga practice.

Day 2

Function Over Form; Re-evaluating the Yoga Shapes

The human body is great at adapting, but what are we adapting too, and is it functional? Yoga is an incredible practice with validity that has made it generations into the future. It works, but we need to find new function to form. Our lifestyle is no longer what it used to be and with current lifestyle practices we need to find a better way for yoga asana to work for us. Learn new ways to access yoga poses and develop better information on why you teach what you teach; one steeped in awareness and availability.

Yoga Pharmacopeia

We as teachers want to be in a position to provide the most appropriate and powerful techniques for all whom we have the privilege to serve. For many, yoga offers only a general response to specific conditions. Add to your teaching toolbox with techniques and protocols for everything from anxiety and overwhelm to fibromyalgia, respiratory challenges, thyroid issues, and many more. This class will begin with a 40 min. physical yoga practice followed by discussion interspersed with a sampling of various meditation/breathwork protocols.

Going Beyond the Dosha Quiz in Ayurveda

Ayurveda has grown in popularity alongside yoga for many years which means more people have a familiarity of the three doshas, vata, pitta, and kapha. But if we limit ourselves to only thinking about the characteristics of the three doshas and what the dosha quiz tells us, we miss out on the vastness and profound depth of the science of Ayurveda.

Join Farnosh Family (she/her) for a workshop exploring the depth of Ayurveda, a traditional form of medicine and a healing art. After a brief introduction to what the doshas are, we will discuss what the dosha quizzes leave out and how effective self-inquiry can be in exploring Ayurveda. And while Ayurveda is a science that predates modern times, we will see how fundamental principles in Ayurveda are proven within the framework of modern medicine as well. Come to this class for foundational knowledge and practical tools from Ayurveda you can use to support yourself as a yoga teacher and share with your students.

Active Peace - Serving Humanity from a Sense of Devotion and Love

This workshop will will incorporate asana, pranayama, self-study, and conversation to explore how we can embody yogic practice and values in a world that is in desperate need of unconditional love, truth, peace, service, and justice. As teachers and practitioners, the concepts of sadhana (daily spiritual practice) and abhyasa (committed practice over time to achieve a tranquil state of mind) must become anchors for our lives rather than abstract concepts ignored and asana and platitudes are pursued.
